Prof Ivan Henrico from Stellenbosch University will give a research seminar on:
Green Transition and Conflict: Mapping the Resource–Conflict Nexus in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo
The seminar explores the relationship between the green transition, resource demand and conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Henrico is Vice-Dean for Research and Internationalisation and Associate Professor in Military Geography at Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Military Science. His research and professional background spans geosciences, geoinformatics, military geography and geopolitics, including more than a decade as a geospatial scientist in the South African National Defence Force.
The seminar is organised as part of GLOBSEC, the UiT–Stellenbosch University partnership on societal security education and research, and is open to interested staff and students.
