The food preparedness in the North is vulnerable in case of a crisis

If the Norwegian counties Finnmark and Troms were to be isolated for a week, the food supply with be at a breaking point. In Finnmark, nobody would be able to distribute eggs, vegetables, or grain, the County Governor of Troms and Finnmark writes on their web pages.

Ola Johansen comes from a line of farmer and runs his own farm in Pasvik, Sør-Varanger on the northeastern tip of Norway. He explains that in a crisis they can deliver milk for two months tops, before his farm is unable to function.

As a consequence, the County Governor of Troms and Finnmark wants more focus in food preparedness in case a crisis was to unfold over a longer period in Troms and Finnmark.
