– It's important to have knowledge about how to gut fish, how to store fresh fish, and how to grow your own vegetables.
What should we eat if there is a crisis? UiT researcher Magritt Brustad gives you some of the answers in UiT's web magazine Labyrinth.

In the old days, harvesting from nature was far more common than today in the northern parts of Norway. Both by growing vegetables, keeping domestic animals, and by hunting and fishing. It was also common to store food in the pantry or in the cellar.
The kids even went on "potato holiday", so that they could help harvest the potato crop.
Today, we get our food from the shops. And there is enough food in the world. Nowadays, it is a matter of having good enough supply lines, so that the food will actually reach us.
- We are rigged quite vulnerably up here in the north. We are dependent upon roads and infrastructure. Because our modern pantry is actually onboard trailers, says project manager Magritt Brustad in Resilient North.
