Event Description
Join us for a unique and engaging side event during the UNOC, organized by the ECOCARE Network team at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. This event is also an implementing activity of the Ocean Incubator Network Learning Toolkit (UArctic 580512125), endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade. The team will be coordinated by Dana Ahmed (in collaboration with the Earth Law and the Habiba Community in Sinai) and will see the participation of Margherita Poto (ECOCARE PI), Claudia D'Andrea (UiT The Arctic University of Norway), Rada Pandeva (Exeter University and The Thalassophile Project), Earth Law Centre and Stop Ecocide International.
Set in a relaxed and serene yoga studio near the sea in Nice, this co-created experience offers a refreshing break from the hectic UNOC schedule.
What to Expect:
1. Puppet Show: A creative performance exploring a leading case on transgenerational environmental justice.
2. Group work: Insights and reflections from experts to inspire dialogue and action.
3. Co-created final decision: Engage with puppet sea creatures stuffed with recycled ocean plastics, fostering a hands-on connection to ocean sustainability. A collective co-created final of the story will lead the workshop to an end.
An optional yoga session will take place after the event, with limited spots available (max. 12 participants). Please indicate your interest below.
This event is designed to advance SDG 14 by promoting innovative, inclusive, and creative approaches to ocean justice and sustainability.
