Invitation to the workshop “Working in the Arctic" for all employees at UiT campus Narvik

We would like to invite you to the workshop held by Lorelou Desjardins, a French author and lawyer who moved to Norway 15 years ago.

She will discuss aspects of Norwegian culture that foreigners encounter when trying to adapt to the language, the country, and, most importantly, the people. She will guide you on how to understand Norwegian work culture, blend in, and actively participate in discussions.

A key premise for the seminar is that 25 per cent of the employees at UiT are foreigners. With this seminar, we aim to foster mutual understanding between Norwegian and foreign staff, contributing to better communication in our daily work lives.

Lorelou hopes to give non-Norwegians a glimpse into what makes Norway and Norwegians both awkward and lovable, while also giving Norwegians something to reflect upon.

The seminar will be a mix of Lorelou sharing her experiences and conversations in smaller groups involving foreign employees and those working to support them at UiT.

Please register by March 9 at 12 noon by clicking "Register" botten on the right side.
