NordicEpi & NorPEN Conference 2026

We are pleased to invite you to the first ever joint NordicEpi and NorPEN Conference, taking place in Tromsø, Norway, from 3–5 June 2026.
The conference will be held in the beautiful city of Tromsø, Norway. Please join us for an exciting programme of epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology, 24-hour sunlight, and colleagues from across the Nordic countries.


Anton Pottegård, PhD, is a professor of pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Southern Denmark, leading the pharmacoepi research group currently counting around 50 people. He is doing applied pharmacoepi within many different disease areas, with a particular focus on building infrastructure and best practice, in particular on transparency and reproducibility, around use of secondary health data.

Unnur Anna Valdimarsdóttir, is a professor of epidemiology and dean of the School of Health Sciences at the University of Iceland. Her research is focused on the complex links between psychological trauma, psychiatric disorders and somatic diseases and her team leverage various Nordic register-cohort-biobank resources and family designs to make advances in this area with support from e.g. the European Research Council (StressGene) and NordForsk (COVIDMENT).

Walter Ricciardi, MD, Hon PhD, is a full Professor of Hygiene and Director of the School of Public Health of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Rome). He is the President of the Mission Board for Cancer of the European Commission and of the European Mission Board of Vaccination.
