About the Film

The Librarians takes you into the heart of a growing battle for democracy and freedom of expression in the United States. The documentary follows courageous librarians in Texas and Florida as they stand against a wave of book bans targeting works on race, gender, sexuality, and more. Facing harassment, threats, and restrictive laws, these librarians fight not just for books, but for the very fabric of democracy.

Directed by Oscar-nominated Kim Snyder and produced in collaboration with Sarah Jessica Parker, the film premiered at Sundance 2025 and has sparked global conversations about censorship and the power of literature.
