Job description

I am an associate professor at the Department for community medicine. I have previously worked as a medical doctor within general practice and refugee health. My interests evolve around health inequalities and structural perspectives on health.

RESEARCH
In particular, I am interested in understanding how marginalized groups experience their health and well-being and how they deal with ill-health. Moreover, I am interested in the  role of the welfare state and legal institutions on the health of marginalized groups and invidiuals. Another interested evolves around the role of climate, environmental and societal changes regarding health and health inequities.

I am currently participating in the following projects:

Resilient North (involved)

IMPACT (involved)

Helsekartlegging av nyankomne flyktninger (PI)

HelseIntro (PI)

TEACHING

I am primary or co-supervisor for several masterstudents and PhD students.

I am involved in teaching medical students in general practice, community medicine and global health.

Currently, I am responsible for the course "Primærmedisin" for 4-th year medical students.
