Job description

Professor i Polar meteorologi og klimadynamikk.

Forskningsinteresser inkluderer:

  • Oppvarming av Arktis, prosessor relatert til hav, atmosfære og is som styre dette.
  • Energi transport i atmosfæren, hvordan atmosfæriske bølger bidrar til denne transporten og hvordan transporten påvirker vær og klima. 
  • Polare lavtrykk, prosessor som skaper disse, og metoder til at øke kvaliteten av forutsigelser av disse.
  • Klimafølsomhet, hvordan prosessor relatert til atmosfære, hav og is påvirker størrelsen på oppvarmingen av joden når CO2 innholdet i atmosfæren øker.
  • Ekstreme værhendelser, hvordan disse endrer seg under global oppvarming, og hvordan atmosfære sirkulasjonen påvirker endringen av disse.
  • Sjøisprognoser, hvordan satellitt baserte observasjoner kan brukes til at forbedre prognoser av disse.
